Dushabe Teahouse

Welcome to my new food site! For my first post, I thought I would talk about a pretty epic meal I had on a recent trip. I was recently in Boulder, Colorado and had the opportunity to visit the Dushanbe Teahouse altalt. Built by hand, this beautiful building was a gift from Tajikistan. The tea selection was immense, although equally impressive was the eclectic lunch menu. It was hard to choose one dish but I decided to get the tea-roasted pork bulgogi accompanied with the bamboo flavored pu-erh. The accompanying dipping sauce was spicier than expected but overall there were a lot of flavors happening which I really enjoyed. Although I usually avoid dessert, I couldn't resist the fact that they had a pistachio soup with chai ice cream. Interestingly the dessert came seasoned with parmesan cheese and crushed peppers that surprisingly worked well.
